Best Lipstick Ever!

How can I make this claim? Because Senegence® LipSense helped me kick a lip balm addiction I’d had for decades! I had been using Avon Dew Kiss Lip Dew since high school—that’s over 40 years—and a habit this deeply ingrained is not easily broken. I was so hooked on lip balm that if I ever left the house without it, I would drive back home to get my trusty tube of Lip Dew or I’d stop at a store to buy another lip balm like Neutrogena, Burt’s Bees, Bonnie Bell, Blistex or Chapstick. I’d actually get a little panicky if I was driving along and reached in my purse pocket and couldn’t find my Lip Dew. I’d pull over and start digging through my handbag in a frenzy because I couldn’t go anywhere without lip balm. No kidding.

My Lip Balm Addiction

Whether it was a true physical addiction to the balm ingredients or just a bad habit, I was hooked. I reapplied Lip Dew every 15 to 20 minutes during the day. I had tubes of this stuff stashed all over the house and office, and I always tried to carry at least one in my purse. When I re-ordered, I’d order a dozen at a time. And, because I frequently kept a tube in a pants pocket and missed it in the laundry, I can’t tell you the clothes I washed that ended up with little grease stains all over them. To show the extent of my addiction, I gathered up the stash I had before I found LipSense. There are 21 here and I discovered after I posted this photo that I had missed a few! Lots of fun holiday Avon Dew Kiss tubes—nutcracker, snowman, Halloween ghosts, stars and stripes—plus a couple of varieties from Blistex, a Carmex, two Bonnie Bells and other Avon products... Anything look familiar?

The Best Lipstick Test Ever

When a dear friend, Kelly Robertson, told me about a product she’s an independent distributor for called LipSense, I wasn’t impressed: Smear-proof, smudge-proof, water-proof, kiss-proof, lasts all day, moisturizing… Yeah, yeah, right, but it’s not lip balm. Besides, lipstick didn't last on me and what's the point of lipstick if you prefer a neutral color that barely shows? Kelly had never even heard of anyone being addicted to lip balm so she didn't understand how hard it was for me to agree to try any substitute, but—just to make her happy—I agreed. Also, I knew I could return this product within a year for a refund. I reluctantly ordered a neutral brownish pick color called Pink Champagne along with the Gloss (contains Shea Butter) and the Ooops remover. Considering my long-term lip-balm habit, I figured the next three days would be the best lipstick test ever! (Whether myth or reality, lip balm addiction is all over the Internet, with my favorite site being Lip Balm Anonymous.)

The Review Results: Best Lipstick Ever!

My personal review: LipSense delivered what it promised making it the best lipstick ever. My only regret is not finding this product years ago. When I think of how tied I was to lip balm all those years, it just seems so ridiculous now. When I open a drawer and see tubes of Lip Dew or an extra Neutrogena, Burt's Bees or Chapstick, it's like seeing an old boyfriend I no longer love. No attraction. I'm totally free!

Since my introduction to LipSense, I've gotten into a routine. I apply it right after I brush my teeth in the morning and I remove it right after I brush my teeth at night. I reapply the gloss after eating, maybe a few more times throughout the day. I have continued to use a light scrub on my lips a few times a week because I'm older and I can use the extra exfoliation. I like my smooooth lips. Living in Arizona where it's sunny and dry, I also appreciate that LipSense has a built-in protection factor. The fact that the color stays on and doesn't kiss off makes it the perfect long-lasting lipstick for the holidays !

Color, Color, Color!

I now like lip color. No more clear blah gloss for me. Who would have thought that would happen to me in my 60s! I started with neutral, barely noticeable Pink Champagne Highlighter, then tried a little more noticeable LipSense color with Praline Rose, then jumped to the definitely noticeable Pit Stop Pink. Pit Stop Pink would be a good everyday color for most any woman who likes color on her lips unless she prefers warm reds and corals. Initially, I used the Pink Champagne Highlighter as the top layer to lighten the Pit Stop Pink but now I like the pure Pit Stop Pink. Visit Kelly's Senegence site to learn more.
